We are living in a world of bureaucracy, sadness and pain, and we don’t even realize. I got a hold of this incredible shocking documentary during the weekend. Which made me realize that even though we are aware of what is happening around the world, we are so concentrated on our day to day lives that we forget about the tragedies that are happening. Children are dying and suffering every second, with no food, shelter or parents to look after them. Sadly, we are not doing anything about it. Bureaucracy, religion, power, are reasons for this devastation.
This post is in behalf of all the people that are suffering on the Middle East, hoping that at some point they will be able to have a stable life like most of the people that are reading this post right now.
I’ve been listening to The Rolling Stones pretty much all the time these last days and “Gimme Shelter” inspired me to do this post. I realized from the 70s and way before (as shown on the documentary), we are still fighting for peace, and sadly; I have the sense it is never going to stop if we don’t start doing something about it.
What a powerful song… written in the 70's during the Vietnam war.
“The lyrics of the song speak of seeking shelter from a coming storm, painting a picture of devastation and social apocalypse while also talking of the power of love:”
“Oh, a storm is threat'ning My very life today If I don't get some shelter Oh yeah, I'm gonna fade away
War, children, it's just a shot away It's just a shot away War, children, it's just a shot away It's just a shot away
Ooh, see the fire is sweepin' Our very street today Burns like a red coal carpet Mad bull lost its way”
Not everything can be ribbons and smiles (sorry to get all political here, but it's not bad to do so ones every month), sometimes the truth needs to be shown, and I guess this is a good way to leave you guys with this some good rock and roll and something to think about.
